Jennifer Layne Park is an actress, singer and writer. JLP, as she is called by many, was named one of the "20 Hottest New Stars" by the editors of PENTHOUSE magazine in their movie themed issue. She says, "I'm still laughing about the fact that I got in there with my clothes ON!"
Miss Park's first "big break" was acting opposite Richard Gere and Alfred
Molina in Academy Award nominated director Lasse Hallstrom's THE HOAX,
released by Miramax. Since then, she has been busy working in film,
television, and on the stage. Her work has been seen by audiences around
the world.
Jennifer Layne Park recently wrapped filming on the independent feature film FUTURE WEATHER, starring Lili Taylor, Amy Madigan, Perla Haney-Jardine and William Sadler. The film is currently in post-production and will be entered into the Sundance Film Festival.
JLP plays a surly young mom who is at war with the ants in her home as well as her own three year old son. "I'm so happy to be a part of this film. Even auditioning for it was fun. I read for 2 other roles, but the third time was the charm. Jenny asked me to improvise, so I went with it and by the end of the audition, we were all laughing together."
Written and directed by Jenny Deller, FUTURE WEATHER is a coming-of-age drama about a girl whose plans to save the planet from global warming are trashed when her mom runs away from home. The screenplay has already garnered many awards, including the 2009 Showtime Tony Cox Screenwriting Award, 2009 Alfred P. Sloan Producers Grant, Finalist in Netlix's 2009 Find Your Voice Film Competition and the 2010 TFI Sloan Filmmakers Grant.
